One shot, like it or not & Fave Five with Pixelus Photography

{CLICK}STYLE  Guest Judge: Pixelus Moments
Theme for December 1 week: {one shot like it on not}

I have to say this theme was interesting, I like how we were challenged this week to focus on making that shot the first time around and to be more pleased with what we are shooting. Thank you to Debra of Pixelus Moments for hosting a great week.

Fave Five with Debra of Pixelus Photography

I would have to say the first thing that comes to my mind about Debra's work, is how it speaks to the soul. Her images have mood, they have feeling. My fave would have to be her black n white work. Those images are always full of feeling of character. This week with Debra's theme she really challenged us to do the same, put the feeling back into our images and what better way to do that then just take one shot in the moment. Not an endless amount of images that the more you click the button the more technically perfect your shot might get, but also the more the emotion of the moment gets lost. And I keep saying over and over again! Feelings trump everything technical.  Thank you Debra for the great challenge this week. If you don't know her work, jump over to her link and check it out for yourself, or take a look at her stunning fave five below.

Here is what she has to say,

I've recently come to find myself in a photographic slump. I thought I would just work through it as I always have in the past. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet. I have little desire even to pick up my camera. When asked to do a job, I find reasons to get out of it. I've gone through my arsenal of unedited images but nothing speaks to me. I know you're thinking, "How sad! Don't be so hard on yourself." Those words have been sounding in my mind for months now. Anyway, I was dreading putting this feature together. No matter how much of a privilege it is, my heart was breaking at the thought of it. Nevertheless, I picked out some of my favorite images from the past year. Looking back at them I noticed something. My images seem to convey a sense of solemnness. Is that really so wrong? It's possible that my attempts to produce images with a different feel just don't speak to me and like any artist, if I can't create, then I feel hopeless...worthless. It's possible, that an image can be meek and humble. An image can be lowly or depressing. An image can express despair and loneliness. Those things are real. Those things are true. And truth is beautiful too.

Fave Five with AnnMarie of One 33 Photography

I am so lucky to be able to call AnnMarie a good friend of mine. I first met her when we both became a part of the Life Unscripted page. From there we discovered that we were practically neighbors living close to each other.
Since then I have the pleasure of having her take our photos for Christmas.
So that can tell you just how much I LOVE her work, that I needed to have
her capture my family.
Her work is fresh, colourful, bright and full of joy. The way she captures her 3 boys always leaves me in AWE.
This week she gave me the wonderful task of choosing 5 fave images of her work. I have to admit I was so excited to pick them, but I had such a hard time finding my faves in her work, because I think I LOVE everything she capture. But I did my fave thing to do at the end of every year and that is pick my fave photo from each season.
Here are my fave 5 of One 33 Photography's work
If you don't know her work jump on over to her page and check it out for yourself.

This is a recent fave of mine of her work. I LOVE the way she captured her boys here. The light is perfect and the bright soft colours around them make all their cute lil faces stand out. Now to get her to come over and throw my 3 kids on my bed and capture it for me :)

SPRING: I remember when AnnMarie shared this last year. RIGHT AWAY I WAS LIKE WOW.
I am a BIG lover of shooting reflections, and the way her boy is playing with the stick makes this shot perfection.

SUMMER:  OH THAT LIGHT. If there is one thing AnnMarie can work with it is LIGHT. And if you can work light to your advantage every photo you shoot will be WOW just like AnnMarie's.
Just look at that awesome rim lighting around the boy up front, and that little one in the back just playing in the water and sunbeam.

AUTUMN: This shot took my breath away when it come up in my news feed. I mean look at the body language on that little guy hugging his pumpkin, and again the story telling of the lilttle one in the background still searching for his hug worthy pumpkin.  And then there is that SKY ...LOVE

WINTER: I know what your thinking just about the cutest thing you have ever seen RIGHT..... Look at those smoochy lips!!! I LOVE everything about his picture. the little moose, the colours, the fresh fallen snow!! If there is one thing AnnMarie ROCKS every time other then light I would say colours.

For all my sweat, my blood runs weak
Let me learn from where I have been
Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn

{everyday life in black & white} & Fave Five with Doe & Deer Photography

Doing some late night catch up.
Last week at {CLICK}STYLE we had in the very talented
She choice the BEST theme, {everyday life in black & white}.
We love to see a good lifestyle theme, and love to

STUNNING images were posted to our wall, and I can imagine it was not an easy task to narrow all that down to just 5, but......

Fave Five by Darla Carrera of Doe & Deer Photography

When I first started seeing the images that Darla was posting to our community page, I took notice to them right away. I love all her work, from the more posed beautifully scenery images she captures, to the everyday lifestyle images like the one she has shared with us below. I am definitely a new fan of hers, and I hope you take a look at her page and join me in getting to see her gorgeous work in your news feed too.

Here is what Darla had to say,

I love the feel of everyday moments captured in Black and white. For me it just feels timeless. I always have my camera handy, And since I never interrupt what my kids are up to, the don’t even seem to flinch when the hear my camera shutter anymore. Childhood is fleeting. And as children grow their loves and joys change. For my children it is the moments of silliness, joy, and their tight bond I am always looking to capture.

Thursday 19 November 2015

Our catch up continues today from a few weeks ago when we had

This weeks guest judge Lindsey is the sweetest thing you will ever meet. I am so happy to have
got to know her through our FB community. She is always so supportive of other artists, and we all
appreciate the time she takes to show us some LOVE.
Now onto her gorgeous work. Lindsey work is so vibrant and full of life. I love to see what her and her little one are going to shoot next. And every time they do, I enjoy seeing it in my news feed.
If you don't already know the work of Lindsey, check our her work below. Or click on the link
to find her page and leave her some LOVE.

I love this picture because it was my very first backlit shot. It took several try but I was finally able to get this picture and I am so proud of it.

This is one of my favorite beach pictures. I love the color of the sunset and the lady silhouette standing off in the distance. The beach is my happy place!

I love to photograph nature too! There is always something beautiful around. You just have to take your camera outside and find it!

Memories. I am all abut memories. Photography is a sentimental thing for me I love having the love of photography to be able to capture moments that will never happen again.

I have a new found love for silhouettes!
