that does the blog write-ups, kinda

So grab a coffee/ tea and get to know
more about me! I drank about a cup or two
while writing this!

1. Tell us about yourself

I am a Mom of 2 beautiful daughters aged 7&8, and one little man age 1, We are your typical busy family, My girls play baseball, Hockey and some Tap Dancing, it is never a dull moment. I was lucky enough to have married my Highschool sweetheart 9 years ago,and love that he always understands that sometimes I just need to capture that shot. While the girls have learned to pose for that shot. I spend my days running an inhome daycare in our small town of southwestern Ontario, so most of my time is spent with some of the best company around, little people. I also run a Playgroup every week, and enjoy heading to teach the kids on Sunday's in Sunday school at our Church. I love working with children as much I love to work with my camera and they seem to work hand in hand together quiet nicely. For hobbies other than photography I enjoy doing a little reading, even more now with my Kobo, I love to sit down an craft, I just started a little adventure of painting and selling canvas', and hope to soon add more of my sewing pieces to the mix as well. And of course there is always the good outdoors, I married a man who loves to be outside, so naturally we as a family love to go hiking, fishing, camping and spending a day out on the water!

2. How did you get started in photography? Whats in your bag?

I believe the thing that got me hooked onto photography was wanting to capture the details I saw and be able to show them to others. Which I think is the what pulls most photographers in. I wanted to capture every little detail of my families lives to have something for them to look back on, I don't have many photos of my brothers and I growing up, and once I started I could not stop. The 365 photo project also got me into taking more of the lifestyle images as well, I never realized how much I was missing in our lives and how much more I would learn in my photography journey by starting the 365.
My camera bag is probably more on the bigger side then it needs to be, I like to be prepared and tend to carry for that, maybe that is the mother side of me. First off my have Pentax K100D, with my Pentax-FA 28-80mm lens, my little Pentax-DA f1.8 50mm, a Tamron f5.6 70-300mm Tele Macro , and an oldy Vivitar f3.5 70-210mm manual lens. I have to say I think my fav is the 50mm. I have extra batteries, extra memory card, lens filter, tripod and Light Scoop. In case of Emergency I have wipes,a comb, band aids and chocolates for when the little ones need some encouragement!

3. What is your favourite Style to photograph?

I would have to say that my favourite style right now is lifestyle. ever since starting the 365 this year for the first time, I am hooked. Me capturing our family moments used to be more like this is the girls smiling at the camera in front of different backgrounds depending on were we were, fair, farm, beach, museum and so on. My now capturing our family moments are real moments, its them screaming their head off as they throw their hands in the air on the ride, it is them on the farm picking berries, its them splashing through the water at the beach. I encourage anyone who has not started one, to start one today!

4. Is there any Photographer you admire or look up to?

This is a hard question, because there is so many I look up to. I have friend photographers I count on everyday who encourage me, and there is photographers I have never met that inspire me. Either way it is too hard to name everyone!
