{heart song} and fave five by Life by Danie

We had the pleasure over at {CLICK}STYLE to have the awesome
Her theme was {heart song}

First, I would like to thank everyone for having me here at Click Style and I loved seeing what makes everyones heart sing.  It is so hard to choose one over another because your heart is unique to you and what makes you shine <3 So when picking my Top Five I picked ones that played to my heart strings. Without further ado here are my 5!

These two littles are so very sweet and there is no better song than that of a newborn <3
Adding on that they are in the shape of a heart makes me gush.  Thank you Alicia for sharing this sweetness <3

I know this little lady is the beat of Dana's heart. Those hearts in the windows remind me of music notes, so the pairing of the two are a beautiful tune.

I love the power of this silhouette; the sun bursting through, the heart being danced through the sky and the beauty of that sky!  It is all so simple but so very breathtaking and something we can feel in our soul as beautiful <3

Look at that smile! The smile of a child can brighten the sadness of anyones day way, a beautiful song of bright innocence.

The love of a family is like no other. You can just hear this mothers heart singing as she is loved on by her men <3 A beautiful song indeed!

Fave Five by Life By Danie

I have so many wonderful things I could say about Danie, and I could go on and on, but we don't all have all day! We just want to view the her images already, so I will just highlight what I like best about her.
First off Danie personally is an amazing person. Down to earth & sweet every time you talk her. She is so amazing at supporting her photography friends. I for one can say I value her friendship :)
NOW for her super awesome work. I find it does not matter what she is shooting she nails it. From her real honest documenting of life to her just playing around and expressing with her camera.
If you don't already know this lady check out her work below or jump on over to  Life By Danie

I think my ultimate and forever favorite image would be this one of my boys on a log.  It is also my first large format professional print hanging on my walls, so we look at it everyday.  My kids love to talk about this all the time, though they continue on with the same story that they are pointing at brothers feet and I continuously tell them it is a rock that they are pointing at and talking about... It is a memory that we will forever talk of no matter what version of the story and that right there is the importance of getting your images off the computer and onto printed paper!

This image is from the same photo shoot with my boys as the one above and also hanging on my wall.  This is them as they are, always on top of each other filled with smiles and loud boy noises.  In both of these photos it was my goal to do a mini session with my boys, to get them posed in a shot.  As it turned out the images that I have loved the most are the ones where they are just being who they are.  Sure I may have started them with an idea of what I wanted, something like "could you stand over there with your brothers in a line" or "go sit on that log" but after that I just let them do their thing, getting these genuine moments that I adore so very much (in everything I capture)

This is my most recent favorite.  I just about squealed with excitement when I brought this up on the computer.  Again this was a planned mini session with littlest and myself.  But the interaction of the moment is completely genuine.

My husband was standing like this on his own, looking out the window of his grandmothers house onto the river.  A moment of quiet reflection I am sure, a five minute break from the nose of our three boys. This was an honestly documented moment, which are my absolute favorite. The times when I am able to capture life in it's most honest moments I am truly happiest.

This is my mom.  She is a beautiful person inside and out.  I am so thankful that I not only call her my mom but my friend as well.  The focus of this may be off to you but for me it captures some of the details of what I love; her freckles, the soft curls of her hair in the wind and her soft profile all making for such a beautiful portrait.

Perhaps by now you are able to tell just what makes my heart sing.... it's the emotion and the interactions of those emotions onto the subject.  It is not and will never be the technical aspects nor the post processing magic [though editing a photo is what helps me to focus the image onto the my targeted emotion] that make my heart skip a beat but the genuine life moments that I can stamp out and hold onto for a lifetime <3

I was so excited to have Mel in to guest judge. I am such a big fan of her work, every time I see an image of she has captured in my feed, WOW is always my response. She has a natural gift at taking life and making it something
beautiful. If you don't already know Mel jump on over to her page, or view her GORGEOUS images below. While your over there make sure to check out her info on the amazing workshops and Mentoring she has to offer.
Here is what Mel had to say.

"I can't remember a time when I wasn't constantly carrying around a camera.  I have been capturing my daily life since grade school.   Back then, it was lunch time and slumber parties and football games.  Now, it's a life full of bus stops, field trips and bedtime stories.  My favorite thing to photograph is my children, especially our photo walks (full of conversation while we walk and photograph) and the relationship between my son and daughter - they have a bond unlike any I have ever witnessed."

One shot, like it or not & Fave Five with Pixelus Photography

{CLICK}STYLE  Guest Judge: Pixelus Moments

I have to say this theme was interesting, I like how we were challenged this week to focus on making that shot the first time around and to be more pleased with what we are shooting. Thank you to Debra of Pixelus Moments for hosting a great week.

Fave Five with Debra of Pixelus Photography

I would have to say the first thing that comes to my mind about Debra's work, is how it speaks to the soul. Her images have mood, they have feeling. My fave would have to be her black n white work. Those images are always full of feeling of character. This week with Debra's theme she really challenged us to do the same, put the feeling back into our images and what better way to do that then just take one shot in the moment. Not an endless amount of images that the more you click the button the more technically perfect your shot might get, but also the more the emotion of the moment gets lost. And I keep saying over and over again! Feelings trump everything technical.  Thank you Debra for the great challenge this week. If you don't know her work, jump over to her link and check it out for yourself, or take a look at her stunning fave five below.

Here is what she has to say,

I've recently come to find myself in a photographic slump. I thought I would just work through it as I always have in the past. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet. I have little desire even to pick up my camera. When asked to do a job, I find reasons to get out of it. I've gone through my arsenal of unedited images but nothing speaks to me. I know you're thinking, "How sad! Don't be so hard on yourself." Those words have been sounding in my mind for months now. Anyway, I was dreading putting this feature together. No matter how much of a privilege it is, my heart was breaking at the thought of it. Nevertheless, I picked out some of my favorite images from the past year. Looking back at them I noticed something. My images seem to convey a sense of solemnness. Is that really so wrong? It's possible that my attempts to produce images with a different feel just don't speak to me and like any artist, if I can't create, then I feel hopeless...worthless. It's possible, that an image can be meek and humble. An image can be lowly or depressing. An image can express despair and loneliness. Those things are real. Those things are true. And truth is beautiful too.
